Call for Playtesters: GURPS Loadouts: Starship Crew
Attention all crew, this is your captain speaking! We are seeking playtesters for GURPS Loadouts: Starship Crew, by Paul Stefko. This 40+ page supplement describes equipment sets intended to speed up outfitting both characters built using GURPS Template Toolkit 3: Starship Crew and ones created freeform to fill similar roles.
Being familiar with the gear found in the Fourth Edition versions of the GURPS Basic Set: Characters – and all of GURPS Bio-Tech, GURPS High-Tech, and GURPS Ultra-Tech – is essential. The primary goals of this playtest are to confirm page references to equipment from those sources, to verify item stats, and to ensure that loadout costs and weights equal the sums of the parts. While familiarity with GURPS Template Toolkit 3: Starship Crew is desirable to confirm that skills and kit line up correctly, a few people can handle that. What we really need is a crew of number-crunchers! The playtest is currently scheduled to run for at least a full month starting on April 15, 2024. If checking the numbers takes longer, we're prepared to extend it by up to a month. We'd rather be a month late than a few pounds or dollars short, so to speak. Please apply only if you have all the necessary books, are willing to crunch numbers (so many numbers . . .), and can commit to at least a month. Preferential playtest slots will be given to those who have spent at least $50 on PDFs from Warehouse 23 in the past calendar year, though this is not a requirement. For more, see the general playtest information page. Prospective playtesters should email Roger Burton West at pt-lo-starshipcrew@firedrake.org with [playtest] in the subject. Include your preferred email address for the closed playtest mailing list, your name as you wish it to appear in the published supplement, your Warehouse 23 email if it's different from the address for the list, and a few words on why we should pick you: qualifications, experience, current gaming group(s), etc. Please use this format: Code:
jtiberiusc@1701.org Jim Church jim.church@goomail.com I've been playing GURPS since the first edition of GURPS Space, I have all the stuff you listed, and I'm currently running a campaign that could really use this supplement. Since you made a big deal about math: I own a store and do my own books and inventories. I don't foresee having anything major come up during the playtest period. Sign me up, Scotty!

Was posting this more than four months before the playtest is scheduled to start intentional?

A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
