Re: Unfortunate Biomods
Try this idea. Some one attempts to become a chameleon. Sure, if you get good at controlling the bio mod it enhances your ability to hide. Cuttlefish do it infinitely better.
Downside, your coloring will always be at least a little bit wrong. This could count as anything from Unnatural Feature to a reduced Appearance advantage. For and OPH some fashionistas use this bio mod as built in make up. Garrish by choice looks being the norm.

Re: Unfortunate Biomods
This would work better as a cyber mod controlled by your VII. UT has it as a temporary thing for your hair and a permanent thing in the Cyberware section.

Re: Unfortunate Biomods
It's likely intentional, either to fit the character's style or to make a creative statement about technology and fashion in the setting. Characters might choose garish biomods or gadgets for cultural reasons, personal expression, or to stand out in a specific way

Pheromone mod that makes you stink like a polecat, especially if it keeps having fights with cosmetic fragrances in your immediate environment?

Imagine someone's musk gland attracting large numbers of vermin. About two hours after the musk gland fool arrives, the sex mad vermin start showing up. A makes the scene at your party for an hour or two. Stinking up the place while networking. The A goes off to the next trendy spot, but the various vermin roll in to wreck your party.

Re: Unfortunate Biomods
Biomods with unfortunate side effects could be interesting. Picture a parahuman with many positive traits, but his canine teeth are unusually large. Not so big as to mess up their speech, but large enough to be a one or two point Unnatural Feature.
Random Person: Are you some kind of leftover Goth? Unfortunate Parahuman: (Sigh) No, why do you ask?
