Howdy.
I am making a multi-genre campaign. I am allowing players to chose from almost any book, almost any advantage or power. This includes almost any equipment. GCA is amazing. I am learning how to use it. I just recently found the feature that allows you to export (Save to data file) User Created Equipment. That is really cool. The problem I am having at this point is my equipment category list is darn large. The multi-genre aspect of the campaign means that there are a lot of files in my data file list. And each of those pretty much has its own equipment, and its own equipment categories. What I am looking for is a way to add subcategories for the equipment list. It is simply a pain to scroll down and look through all the individual categories in list fashion. A subcategory system would make it a lot easier and faster. Is this too radical a change for GCA? Would that require a massive revamping of the overall function? Has someone already done this? I am happy to do the changes my self... if someone can cut and paste the basic code, I can go in and revamp the specific gca files myself. Or I would be happy to work with someone to put together a comprehensive category/subcategory heading. Regardless, GCA has greatly helped in reducing the time it takes for me to make a character AND has added a lot of enhancements to the character sheet. I am probably crazy because I sub-categorize all the character's equipment into parent items like bags, backpacks and vehicles... Batteries are under a parent piece of equipment that uses them, and so on...Even on print out, I print single pages of equipment for parent items that hold a lot of equipment... like a vehicle or a back pack. :^p |
