Please critique. I considered several other avenues to get this effect (including just using Attribute Substitution Perks) before deciding that it would make a good Chi skill. The extra-effort bit was an afterthought, but it makes sense.
Fighting Spirit Will/Average Prerequisites:Trained by a Master or Weapon Master Defaults: None. This ability lets you summon up the will to fight through pain and injury. You may roll against this skill instead of HT to avoid Knockdown and to Recover from being Physically Stunned. You may also roll against your Fighting Spirit skill instead of Will in order to use Extra Effort. Modifiers +1 per level of Inner Balance. Rolls to avoid knockdown and stunning receive the usual +3 from High Pain Threshold. Obviously you wouldn't take this skill unless your Will was higher than your Health, and few people would find it worthwhile to spend more than 4 points in it (since Will is 5 points per level.) I'd be interested in ways to make it more useful, especially ways to justify making it Hard instead of Average (it just seemed overpriced right now.) Attribute Substitution (Knockdown and Stunning to Will) seems to be too cheap to me, but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.
