Loaded Die after Death

The "Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies" discussion got me thinking about this...

Let's say you're up against a monster. You can't win. You roll to run away. You roll a 1. The Monster's bad stuff is "You Die". Can you play a "Loaded Die" at this point, or are you already dead and your cards are forfeit?

A Loaded Die us one of the few cards that can interrupt a roll resolution. Basically this card let's you change the roll to whatever you want as if that's what you rolled in the first place.
