Can Polymorph Potion be used to prevent your opponent from getting a level

It looks like it could be used to essentially cause a monster to go away leaving treasure behind. I assume then the fighter does not get treasure for this. Could I use this to essentially cancel a combat out that my opponent will win to prevent them from leveling?

And you believe correctly. It says it can be used in 'any combat', which means it can be used whether you are fighting or not.

No they do not get a level if Polymorph Potion is used on the monster. However, they do get the treasure.

This helps. Thanks again for your time. I've played about 5 games with my kids and think we have now seen all the cards and will probably not have many more questions. Thanks again for all the help.

Does this also mean that if a monster instantly defeated that would give the munchkin level 10 you can wander in a monster that he/she would have to defeat in order to get the level?
