To be clear, I'm not asking why one would buy this instead of Basic Speed+1.00 with Basic Move-1 (I know, disadvantage limits, and limits on how much extra Speed a normal human can have). It's clear that, ignoring such limits, you get a better deal with the extra Basic Speed because of the improved initiative, and, if somehow it ever became relevant (character has Flight), improved Air Move (as it's Basic Speed x 2). So technically if a character had Flight they'd be able to sell back 1 yard per second of Air Move and actually get the benefits of Enhanced Dodge plus improved initiative order for 2 points less than Enhanced Dodge ([13] total) with Basic Speed+1.00 [20]; Basic Move-1 [-5]; Air Move-1[-2].
But that's not the question. My question is more, what could Enhanced Dodge represent "in real life" (forgetting for a moment that it's listed as cinematic)? I know builds for creating shields with DB via advantages use it along with the other Enhanced Defenses. Also, yes, it could be part of a power. But in general, what could justify mundane (if cinematic) humans that are better at dodging than their reflexes (Basic Speed) would otherwise suggest? I thought about the case of specifically training to dodge (maybe you are insanely hardcore about dodgeball?); I feel like any such training would inevitably have the spillover effect of improving reflexes though, amounting to improved Basic Speed minus the extra Move instead anyway (which does cose the same total 15 points). Any thoughts?
