Default Ob-Racing and The Running Man

Would there be interest in Ob-Racing, presented in ADQ 7/2, if a published set was presented in 3X Car Wars scale to make pedestrian figures larger?

Has anyone modified the Ob-Racing rules to use motorcycles or subcompacts instead of pedestrians?

Would there be interest in a Car Wars scenario based on The Running Man movie with motorcycles or subcompacts used as the Runners? Could the Car Wars rules provide ideas for more Stalkers than those presented in the 1987 movie?

The Running Man (and I assume you mean the movie not the book) concept sounds great in theory -- but you'd need a ginormous map to pull it off. It seemed like part of the schtick was the runners trying to hide from the stalkers in various parts of the game area, and then getting cornered in whole arenas within the game area (which, if I remember right, was an entire ruined city?).

I suppose instead you could role-play the parts in between stalker encounters, and then play out the encounters as a duel in a surprise arena, where the players come in with whatever damage was left over from last time and whatever repairs or resupply they've managed to cobble together. Guess one of the players needs to be a mechanic with poor dueling skills, and the others need to do their best to protect that one! :)

Much of the challenge might be in arranging some viable repair/resupply between encounters (enough to not be deadly, not too much to take away that element, somehow matched up to the needs of the specific vehicle designs...). I guess if you posit cars with modular weapons bays, it could be like "too bad you're almost out of VMG bullets. However, you did just stumble across a fully-loaded Flamethrower module. Do you want you mechanic to swap them?" Or else that part could be more like the Hunger Games where your degree of success determines how much loot your sponsors send to you between encounters...

You could run a 'survivor' series ... PCs in a moderately expensive car (say Div 30) who face four opponents one at a time, with each opponent a Division 10 or 15 car and no oppurtunity to repair between battles.

PCs are rated against each other by how many opponents they manage to defeat ... with ties being resolved either by a count of how much damage the PC's sustained (or perhaps a head-to-head duel between the PCs).

The scenario you described is like the Trial for Position of the Clans in BattleTech. Brilliant!
