Carrying the torch
Standing firm against the foe
Polishing my shoes— Some hack
It has been a while since we released a
GURPS Dungeon Fantasy item, hasn't it? This is the sort of thing that would go
much faster if
e23 had more lackies. Like the ones in
GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 15: Henchmen, say. But lackies are just the tip of the iceberg! Contents include:
- Ten 125-point templates (agent, apprentice, archer, brute, cutpurse, initiate, killer, sage, skirmisher, and squire) and five 62-point ones (cultist, guard, laborer, servant, and torch-bearer).
- A dozen 125-point lenses (adept, burglar, champion, gadgeteer, genin, learned, monk, priest, psi, treasure-hunter, troubadour, and veteran).
- Extensive guidelines for using all this stuff to create NPC henchmen, whether as Allies or hirelings, complete with rules for advancement, hiring, loyalty, random traits, and dressing lackies in silly outfits.
- Equally solid advice on using these building blocks for low-powered or custom high-powered PCs, with notes on mixed power levels and multiple PCs per player.
- A generous smattering of new traits ideally suited to those we might jokingly term "arrow-catchers."
. . . plus the proverbial "and more," including thoughts on ceremonial spellcasting in
Dungeon Fantasy, power-ups for NPCs, using these templates and lenses to create nonhumans, and keeping Allies from sending the campaign off-kilter. If you've ever wanted devoted NPC associates for the PCs, or itched to try out a low-powered
Dungeon Fantasy campaign, or just wanted to mix races and professions on a 250-point budget, then this is the supplement for you!
