Monk ability

During a game we played today a Monk used his ability to play a +5 monster enhancer on himself to help beat a monster. The +5 says that if the monster is defeated collect an extra treasure. Would this still apply since the enhancer was played on the player and not on the monster?

No. The Monk's Meditation ability gives you only the bonus from the Monster Enhancer, and bonuses are defined as +X values.
