Has anyone tried using a variable number of phases such that nobody ever moves more than an inch in a phase?
So if everyone's doing 50mph or less you can use five-phase movement, but once someone's up above that you go to ten-phase, and in a race with people doing up to 200mph you use twenty-phase just to make sure that details don't get lost? Some of the rules would need to be rewritten to use fractional seconds rather than phase counts, but I don't see this being a major problem.
