[RPM] Ritual Path Magic without critical failures?
I really like ritual path magic, but I dislike the critical failure mechanic, especially in cases where a witch would cast many cantrips per day, since casting roll would always be susceptible to critical failure (and thus a 20 point ritual). Has anyone made any useful alternatives to the critical failure mechanic?
I was considering something like this:
Casting rolls (not energy gathering rolls) can be mitigated via a path technique that starts at some penalty.
On a critical failure, you get a (cost of spell) penalty to skill rolls to cast future spells, but the penalty heals by by 1/minute, or 1/hour if you are not a ritual adept.
