Default What is a biohacker good for in a horror campaign?

Hello fellow THS enthusiasts

I'm a seasoned master starting a horror/investigation campaign in GURPS THS due to popular demand.
Since we are all relatively new to the system (and the setting), I've decided to start from the adventure "Orbital Decay", giving 175 pt each to a group of 4 players.

My problem is that one player wants to focus a LOT on biotechnology with a chinese genemod child prodigy, flunked out of college due to some questionable morals and mental instability, now on hire for the best seller and secretly pirating all pieces of biotech she can put her hands on.

I like her concept, but since biotech in THS is rather slow (as in real life..) this risks limiting the charachter's actions to performing occasional DNA checks, keeping the group clean from viruses and waiting for the others to sort out the problems.
Furthermore, the group already has a dry-tech (AI and electronics) expert, which narrows down her usefulness even more.

I could give her some sort of biotech based superpower (i.e. gadgeteer), but that would compromise the "hard science" feel that made them love the setting in the first place, and slow down the pace of the game while we pore over rules on engineering bacterial strains.

So my question is: what role can she fill, and how can i make her use the biotech themed skills during the adventure?
