GURPS Vehicle conversions

This isn't about specific vehicles, but more looking for guidance (and be easy on the newbie :) ) on converting 2E vehicles to 4E. Can you use them straight out of the book, or do they require a bit of work? I'm brand new to GURPS and what I want isn't there, and neither my GM or I want to wait until the new rules are actually published. We both have the 2E rules and while complicated, they are serviceable.

So um, any ideas?

Also - why aren't there more threads posting custom vehicles? I expected a lot more than I found.
