So firstly, as someone who has tried his hand at every munchkin set, Axe Cop is my new favorite (yes, including superstarbooty).
The only discrepancy we've encountered is with the Goodguy Machine. Its a pretty powerful item, especially since it doesn't appear to be a one-shot, lending well to over-utilization, often to the point of abuse (nothing like a vulgar display of power to start the mandatory loud argument). The issue is weather or not the ally drawn from the discards adds to your total number of allies and if so, can one use the Goodguy Machine if one can't legally have another ally. We've played that the new ally doesn't count and you can stack as many allies as you can extract from the discards. The card states nothing in regards to legal limits (though it is a wordy card that doesn't have an attached magnifying glass, so one can only assume an implicit limit) and says the ally must go into play, thus one would not be able to use it if already at the limit of allies. Of course a bonus ally in exchange for levels and treasure seems fair enough. Oh my rattled brain. Not much of a paradox, but external input can't hurt, much. We've also assumed that Allies follow the same rules and are interchangeable with all other types of minions from other sets. Is this all wrong? Are we bad people? Does any one really care? Can you really have too high of a gun bill? |

Yes, Allies = Hirelings, and as per the rules for Axe Cop (and every other set that has Hireling-class cards), you can normally only have one.
As for the Good Guy Machine: First off, it's only usable by someone with the Uni- power, limiting its usage right there. Second, since you'd have to have no Ally, or some ability granting you the use of another Ally, to use it, once again, it's limited. |
