The problem is that SM -10 by itself does very little. It'll give you 1.5" tall humanoids with full ST and HP. Instead, you should use Shrinking, which does scale appropriate stats down proportionally. If the character himself can shift between SM 0 and SM -10, it's not even an Affliction; he just has Shrinking with Affects Others. Don't forget Can Carry Objects if you want to shrink their equipment too.

Not if he can do it against their will, or have them shrink while he remains full-sized.

Do you really want the character to turn everybody around him into tiny creatures?

Where most people have an issue is if they get tied up in game mechanics rather then special effects. As was pointed out SM is a 0 point feature so you cant change it by itself. Morph or more fairly shrinking is the way to go. However going back to my old Champions days I created a character like this. It was a Villain who could warp space and thus shrunk everyone. Except I bought it as Growth with some area effect skill levels to act as penalties for everyone else. Players loved it, first trying to figure out the build since they knew i used the same rules for everyone and later when I explained it to them they still loved it. But it was really just a nifty special effect. |
