As many on the forums have noted in the past, the Wizard is a difficult archetype to master. Those used to playing That Other Game expect mages to act like mobile turrets, which the Wizard doesn't do very well. The Wizard can be one of the most powerful starting DF characters, but it can be overwhelming to choose from the hundreds of available spells.
The three sample spell lists in DF1 are helpful, but they leave out some of the most fundamental spells (Recover Energy and Delay), and they include weak spells that sound powerful (any missile spell, Rotting Death), as well as some spells that nobody understands (Phantom).
So I decided to start compiling more sample wizard spell lists. Each list includes exactly 30 spells, including all necessary prerequisites. Comments are welcome, but I would be even more happy to see people posting their own lists!
