I'm not really surprised. He is definitely a multi-genre nerd, between Wildcards and ASOIAF, and GURPS does multi-genre as well as anything.

I think this liking of GURPS is evident in Game of Thrones.
The brutality and death on one hand with the concentration on politics and social interaction on the other. |
