Default Q: Items in play

Hi,

Because of the 5 cards in hand rule, is it allowed to put other items like potions, pretty baloons, wishing ring etc in front of oneself just like weapons, armour etc? Are these potions/pretty balloons/wishing ring items? Can they be stolen?

Thanks

An Item, as described by the rules, must have a Gold Piece value (which includes the words "No Value"). If it has a Gold Piece value, then it's an Item, and it can be put into play. The rules go further to say that one-shot Items (like Pretty Balloons) can be used either from your hand or from in play, so those one-shot Items that can be used during combat can be used in any combat if they are in your hand or out on the table. Going back to the statement that they are Items, then it should be obvious that they can also be stolen.

It should also be noted that the rules under the section describing Charity explain that you may play Items to the table, or use up other cards, to get your hand down to 5 or less before having to give cards away.
