What are some of the ways to force someone to become a Cultist when they have a CMC? The way the card is worded makes it seem that whenever Bad stuff, a curse, or even Sudden Head blow happens the CMC user could just say I'm a cultist already and then immediately stop being one again. Circumventing any of that stuff.
This doesn't seem like the intentions to me. Is it? |

No, I don't think that was ever the intent, and it doesn't prevent someone from avoiding Bad Stuff, Curses or other things that make you join the cult.

Is this the promo card? I thought based on prior discussions that card would allow you to avoid Bad Stuff, Curses, and such.
There's a detailed discussion here, if so: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=76028

I remember that thread. That's why I find this thread somewhat confusing, since it sounds like MM is agreeing with the original poster, and disagreeing, at the same time, and with odd phrasing. And I want to be clear, since I'm SURE something like this WILL eventually come up if I play Cthuhlu again, since this card WAS in the inventory of some of the players LAST time.

I think the OP's question is still valid, though - how CAN you make a player holding the CMC into a Cultist, thus forcing them to drop the card?

Kill them: Wander in a monster with death as bad stuff and enhance it and put potions on it. Give it a mate so they have to run away from death twice Curse: Some curses let another player choose what to get rid of so if it is an item then they can choose that Specific cards: Specific cards allow a card to be removed fom game. Sure sometimes you don't get the luck ofthe draw to get these cards but then again I was playing a game of good, bad & munchkin and an opponent got everything with the word Bow in it to give a big bonus along with cheat and extra hands. Sometimes in those situations you just have to grin and bear it and hope for a better distriution of cards next time. |

Makes sense, but most of those don't make the player a cultist, just remove the CMC from their use of it. Andrew (in the linked discussion) says that the best way to get rid of the CMC is to make the player a Cultist, but I'm still stumped as to how one could do that...
