In the Munchkin Guild, I remember they came to the conclusion that it is possible to prevent an Epic Orc from gaining a level by eating a monster by using a wandering monster that he could not defeat. If this were to happen, the player would not gain a level since you don't gain anything from combat you can't win. However, we never determined whether or not it would be o.k. for someone to use a wandering monster and then use Friendship Potion or some other similar thing to prevent the Orc from eating the monster. Any thoughts?

Well, I'm in the process of trying to determine if there is anything you can do to prevent the Level gain in the first place, as in if the Epic Orc in question would have to beat any other Monsters to get the Level. There are greater minds than mine working on this problem night and day. Well, maybe. . . They might just be sending my e-mails to the trash anymore. . . :-D
Other than that: You can't do anything to stop the Orc from removing the Level 1 Monster, even if it's been buffed up pretty heavily. That's made explicitly clear in the rules. |

Yes, but even if you can beat one monster in a combat, you never get anything from that combat if you can't defeat all of the monsters or are forced to run away. I was just wondering if the same would apply for the Epic Orc eating creatures.
