Default Did Pyramid #3/34 wash your spaceship ashore?

I rather liked David Pulver's additional material for Spaceships, and Steven Marsh's deck v. dice was pretty darn cool too.

What was your favorite article? Why?

One for which a mini review would prove useful before purchase (especially given I am considering resubscribing to Pyramid)

I love this issue. I'd have to say that Ten Tweaks just barely beats out Armor Revisited and Eidetic Memory for this issue. They all have wonderful stuff I will use, but Ten Tweaks has the widest variety of stuff I will use as well as nice detail stuff.

I gotta complain about the article "When We Were Small," which seems remarkably useless. Especially lines how rabbits in B&B would have STs of 3. Isn't the point of B&B that rabbits have a ST of ten and humans have a ST of, like, 50?

And do we really need to know the ST of a canary?

Maybe you don't, but consider the people who play were-canaries...

Well its useful for a lot of genres and though may not be a big ticket item for the average player some will want to play those critters or have them for familiars, animal companions or just morph.
And for GMs it covers those needs plus.
Thing about most articles is you cant please everyone all the time so most of the articles please most people most of the time I think your doing well.

It sounds like you don't run the type of games that would make use of its advice -- thus, I agree that it's probably useless for you in particular. Fortunately, the wonderful thing about Pyramid is that the wide variety of articles in each issue means it's darned likely that at least some part of it (if not most or all of it) will be useful for your games.

Sure, and that's one way to run it. But some games also involve human and small animal PCs working together. Just watch the animated film Ratatouille for a recent example, or read/watch any of the Chronicles of Narnia books/movies to see humans, lions, and bears working next to mice, ravens, and squirrels.

Well . . . yes, if we plan on using canary characters in our games as more than just background NPCs. And again, I understand that this might seem silly to you, but understand that it's an idea that has been used in a fair share of existing media, and thus it's quite possible that someone will want to emulate such a thing in GURPS.

ha... when I saw it I thought this looks really intersting... good example of how tastes in gaming can be very important.

I've not seen this issue yet, but I've been thinking for a while that Spaceships should be adopted to real life navel warfare. Now that it appears it has been so I can't wait until I get paid so I can get this.
