Got into a debate regarding the Restraining Order card with group combat. Player A looks for trouble and is facing a monster and going for the win. Before cards are played, they use "Restraining Order" against Player B as early protection. They then team up with a level 9 elf to share the win, Player C. Can Player B play cards against the combat stating they are being played against Player C? Can they add a wandering monster into battle.
Before Player A asked for help it makes perfect sense that wandering monsters couldnt be played, but if a helper joins are they opening themselves up for more cards against them, or does the Restraining order protect the entire combat? |

You can't somehow direct cards that affect Player A's combat and say that they really affect Player C. I believe there are cards (I'm not hunting down any examples or definitive lists at the moment) which you can play that directly affect Player C, but Monster Enhancers, Wandering Monsters and one-shot Items that affect one side or the other are definitely and clearly out of the question.

That makes sense.
We played again the next day and had a similar situation. Does restraining order work against Potion of Apathy. The leader of the battle brought a friend and he used the Restraining order on another player. He teamed with a friend to battle the monster, does the Potion of Apathy take effect or did the restraining order protect the helper munchkin? |
