Default Portal of Mystery and Wandering Monster question.

Portal of Mystery - If you draw it face up, exchange it immediately for 2 Doors:1 face up 1 face down.

If you draw it face down, exchange it at any time, on you turn, for 2 face-down Doors.

Now, if I start with it in my opening hand, does that count as drawing face down???? I encountered this a few days ago and didnt know what to do.

Also a WM question. Do you go up 2 levels for killing the original monster(1 level) and the WM(1 level)? Or is it just 1 level gained? Also, is the same true for the treasures?

Not familiar with Portal of Mystery, so I won't even try that one.

With regards to monsters, though, yes, if you defeat multiple monsters in one combat, you go up levels and get treasure for ALL of them, added together. So if you defeat a monster that gives you one level and 2 treasures and a monster that gives you two levels and 5 treasures, you go up a total of 3 levels, and get a total of 7 treasures.

If you manage to somehow end up facing 5 level 1 monsters at once, and beat them, you go up 5 levels, and get the listed treasure from each of them.

I'm not sure how else to consider that other than face-down, since you're not required to show these cards to anyone.

If you kill a Monster, you get all the rewards for it. This is why the rules don't say, specifically, to do this for multiple Monsters because it's really straightforward: If you kill a a Monster you get a Level (or 2 for some of the more gruesome ones) for doing so. If you kill 2 or 3 or 4 Monsters in one combat, you would get Levels for all of them, plus all their Treasure.

Yeah I just went with your idea when we were playing. At first I thought I mixed a Portal card into he deck by accident. Then I read it and was like, "I dunno what to do with this......"

Ok thanks for the WM clarification. I wasn't quite sure on it and my friends were going against my decision of getting levels for the 2 monsters i killed.

Cards in your hand are considered to be face-down, by previous rulings.
