Actually, the prefered method would probably be to create each "kit" as an Equipment item that's the Parent of all the equipment it contains. It would be similar to Templates, even using adds(), but would then use parentof() to take ownership of the pieces of equipment it just added.

Yes & No. Until the current beta it couldn't be done at all; with the current beta you could have a Selection Menu which asks for the Delver's SM and would apply the appropriate modifiers to the pieces of equipment to adjust their sizes. Problem is that there are at least 3 different types of modifiers for scaling equipment (one for weapons which modifies weapon stats, one for armor which modifies DR, and one for other equipment). On top of that each of those three modifier types can only address one SM at a time (meaning separate modifiers for each SM). All in all there's no way this could be done with a Selection Menu without using the current beta.

You could, however, create a loadout for each SM. You'd create the base loadout, then make a copy of it for each SM and paste in the appropriate modifier for each piece of equipment.

If anyone is seriously interested in working on this for GCA I'd be happy to continue the discussion in the GCA forum.

I love it! even if you don't want to use the armor from it everything else is a nice prize. the weapons choice and items like pots bundle together makes it easier for me to grab and go, can't wait for low-tech load outs and instant armor for a combo effect!

I normally don't buy DF products as DF is not something I play (personal tastes), but as I bought DF1 for the equipment listings DF:Loadouts is certainly on my "to get soon" list.

(I think this and the bestiary books are what I'd use the most of the DF line...)

Yes, it does kinda suck unless you only want it for DF or as exemplar. But I'm sticking with my 5 star rating.

I should chime in that this is also what I was thinking. I wasn't thinking "scam," but rather "business choice I would not have made knowing only what I knew on the outside."

Oh, I certainly didn't think that anybody was implying anything nasty! However, you guys gave me an opening to insert information that seemed unlikely to end up on a product page or in a release announcement, so I took it.

Add me to that group too.

The wandering minstrel bard has cloth sleeves and a leather jacket. I'm thinking this is errata, and either the jacket should be leather armor, or the sleeves should be dropped.

The gentleman adventurer swashbuckler has cloth armor and steel breastplate. Presumably to protect his back.

Elementalist druids, holy warriors of death, the hunt, and the night, professor scholars, elementalist and shamanistic summoners, and assassin thieves have heavy cloak and more normal torso armor.

It is not errata. It may be an eccentric choice, but a little extra DR for the extremities at the cost of a potential DX penalty for a largely non-combatant character has worked for me in practice.
