Cursed Thingy versus The Other Ring

Hello,

I tried finding an answer to this question on the forums but couldn't find one so here goes:

What if I curse The Other Ring (or any wishing ring for that matter) with Cursed Thingy? Can the victim choose to cancel the curse or does the ring lose its special power (which is the ability to cancel a curse)?

Now, I'm not a native speaker but as far as I know you can only cancel something that has already happened. (The word 'cancel' is specifically written on the card) Therefore, if the ring is already cursed you can't use its power.
