I strongly considered prefacing every word that starts with 'S' in this post with the letter 'P' so we'd have 'pstrongly', 'pstarts', et cetera.
Then I figured you guys might come to Austin and burn me at the pstake, so I decided not to. Anyway: Pyramid #3/29: Psionics. It includes rules and meditations on non-standard brain function, including lesser psionic powers (reminds me of the level-zero spell jokes my D&D group used to make before cantrips came into play) and a Random Thought Table. There's lots of other interesting and sensitive stuff here too like "Thoughtjustice," an examination of crime in a psionic world, but look! Charts! |

It's no coincidence that Steven dragged David Pulver (creator of GURPS Psionics for Third Edition and the upcoming GURPS Psi-Tech for Fourth Edition) and me (creator of most of the other psi stuff for Fourth Edition so far) into this issue. You get ideas from the full range of "psychic GURPS gurus" this month!
Of course, the other articles are at least as awesome as anything we crusty old-timers have written -- including mega-crunch from Christopher, a thoughtful musings from Andy, and a mix of psi-add-ons from Kenneth. Interesting story about Antoni's "Random Psionic Tables" -- when Steven first mentioned that he'd want me to do a short article for the Psionics issue, my first thought was, "I know! Random tables to generate psis super quickly, for the GM who needs to whip up NPCs in a hurry. I'll wait and see how many pages Steven has left for me, but that's a great idea." Fast-forward to a few weeks later, when Steven was starting to accept articles. I get an emailed question from Antoni, asking me for some details regarding an article he's writing -- on random psi-generating tables! I not only answered his question, but I passed him the (few, sparse) notes I'd made on the subject and essentially told him, "I'm sure you can write this at least as well as I could have -- you certainly have my blessing on it. But remember that I'm looking forward to this article now, so you'd damn well better do a good job. Y'know, no pressure, though." :) So I got to write about something completely different and I get the (incredibly well done -- kudos, Toni!) article that I had wanted to see in the first place. Life is good.

If that was your idea, does that make it an e-Malakite conception?

For the GURPShead, this is an awesome Pyramid issue. Possibly the one that would get top rating from here of the issues so far. Really cool. Now, a Psi campaign somewhere would be nice ...
Hey! I know! I'll start one! ... wel, one of these days, anyway ;-) ...
