Default Question about shape earth:

In the spell, cost is listed per cubic yard. Let us assume that you wish to make a 3 foot by 6 foot table out of stone. Do you pay enough energy to pay for the actual volume of the stone, or do you find the dimensions of the object and calculate it as though it were a rectangular prism? A table, being a flat plane with four legs, wouldn't need more than a single cubic yard of material, but it occupies two hexes.

Also, in That Other Roleplaying Game, it mentions that "stone shape" cannot create fine details, only rough shapes. There seems to be no such stipulations on shape earth. Would it be possible to make, say, an axehead by shaping earth into the correct shape and then earth to stoning it into iron?
