Default Out to Lunch

Player A (Wizard) Looks for Trouble against a level 12 monster who gives 3 treasures. The opposition Wanders in a level 10 monster (also 3 treasures). Player A charms the level 12 and moves it off to the side to be resolved after beating the level 10. Several potions from both sides later, Out to Lunch is played.

Is the charmed monster subject to Out to Lunch, or does the Wizard draw 5 treasures (3 for the charmed monster, 2 from Out to Lunch) since the charmed monster is gone already?

Since he charmed the 12 level monster, the card "Out to lunch" was played to the remaining 10 level monster. So he gets 3 from the charmed and 2 from the lunched. Thats what i understand.

Actually, "Out to Lunch" cancels a combat, it says that the monster(s) are busy having lunch and 2 treasure cards are drawn immediately.

Since a player can only take treasure from a combat after all monsters in it are killed/defeated, and the second monster was not killed or defeated, then the treasures from the charmed monster can no longer be obtained.

From the FAQ:

For the purposes of the game, "defeating" a monster involves beating it in combat or removing it from play in such a way that you do not have to Run Away

Here's how I see the chain of events.

Monster 1 is being defeated by Player A.
Monster 2 wanders in.
Monster 1 is charmed (discarded, leaving it's treasure behind--to be collected when combat is over.
Potions are played from both sides.
Out to Lunch is played.
Monster 2 is removed from combat in exchange for 2 treasures (to be collected when combat is over)
No more actions by the munchkins.
Player A collects 2 treasures for Out to Lunch, and 3 treasures for the charmed monster (all remaining monsters have been defeated).

My reasoning is that the charmed monster isn't removed by Out to Lunch since it's not there anymore.

As was expressed to the MBT today:

Designer's intent is, "Combat is over. Have two Treasures."

So, two treasures is all that the player would get, even if he Pollymorphed one Monster, Magic Lamped another, and charmed a third before getting hit with Out To Lunch
