If someone plays this card, does it mean others have to discard their race?
For example, someone plays this on a dwarf, do all other dwarfs in play have to discard their race, or does it prevent anyone NEW from becoming a dwarf. The card isn't clear. |

The card is VERY clear: you can't play it if someone else shares your Race or Class (whichever one you pick). So the situation you ask about can never arise.

Ah thanks, maybe I have an older printing? Or maybe I'm just bad at reading comprehension.

From all the evidence that I have, the card has gone unchanged since its release. Here's the key portion: "Play this card on your turn, at a time when you are the only one who has a specific Race or Class." I.e., you can only play it on your turn on yourself under specific conditions.
