Gnarly's bad stuff sez that you become mind controlled and must help anyone that asks you (for no reward) until your next turn.
Does this mean I have to actually try to win a fight I am asked to join, or am I still allowed to sabotage it by Wandering in a monster, or by not playing/discarding to give myself a bonus? We had a case where I did not run away from Gnarly, so had to help someone else. He was higher level than me, so when he asked me to help, I had to join the combat, but I did not want him to beat the monster he was fighting. I played a wandering monster, and he said I couldn't cuz that was not helping - as per the Mind Control I had to help and was not allowed to hinder.... I had a use only once bonus in my hand as well, and did not want/need to use it, but if I am not allowed to hinder must I do all that I can to help or can I abstain? Helping, in Munchkin, is a game term and refer to specifically adding your Level + Bonus in a fight. You can still play cards against the fight, like one-shots and Wandering Monsters.
Check the FAQ for a lot of situations similar.
