Perhaps it’s simply asinine to ask but I’m going to do it anyway. After a portal is played face-up another is immediately drawn face- up, in terms of phase 1 of play: kicking down the door, you would react as if the portal was never played and the replacement card was the card the was flipped?

Well, your wording implies things that don't need to be implied, but the best way to look at it is to restart Phase 1 of your turn if you find a Portal, yes.

Okay another portal question if I may… the rules say that you can only play one portal on your turn, now say at the start of a players turn he/she plays a portal. Now phase 1 reveals a portal, would it be played normally or discarded and another door is flipped open? Thanks in advance

The rules are actually very clear on this one. If you draw a Portal face-up, it takes effect - no ifs, ands, or buts. If you want to play a Portal from your hand, you may only do so on your turn, not during combat, and if you haven't already played one.
So, in this situation, you played the Portal from your hand correctly. You then kicked open a door and found another Portal, so you have to obey its instructions. The rules permit no alternative. |
