Elven Swords - Page 2

In the movie, Fellowship of the Ring, there is an elven sword that the armies of elves used against the hordes of Mordor. It is in one of the opening sequences, where the elves are all standing behind Elrond and they all strike in perfect succession.

I was just wondering what type of sword classification this would be. Is it just a two-handed sword? Is it a bladed staff? A polearm?

If a character wanted to use something similar (or identicle) I would like to know how to deal with it.

Thanks in advance __________________ Two things that I learned from Dungeons & Dragons is that I LOVE GURPS and it isn't really a compliment when a gnome tells you your hair smells nice.
