Default Players looking for GM.

We are three players looking to collaborate to create a game that would be enjoyable for both GM and Players.

At this time it would be a small group of the three players and but we would welcome more players. We are flexible and are willing to play on almost any day of the week. We would be using the GURPS 4th Edition Rules, knowledge of these rules is required. We currently know how to use Maptools, but we would be comfortable switching to another system if the GM preferred another system. We have a great source file and would be willing to teach the basics of Maptools to any gm or player interested. Prior GM experience is recommended although not necessarily required.

Possible genres could include:
Post-Apocalyptic
Present Day
Historical
Investigative
Futuristic

But other genres and ideas are welcome as well.

Please send any inquires to theagentxero@gmail.com or just post below.

It is very likely that in the next couple of weeks I will be starting a new campaign of the cyberpunk genre. It will be GURPS 4e played using the Fantasy Grounds II virtual table top software (www.fantasygrounds.com). Some knowledge of Shadowrun will be beneficial as this is the setting I will use.

Just curious, what do you mean by "collaborate to create a game"?

We have a few ideas for campaigns, but those ideas could be altered if the GM had other ideas. OR a new idea could arise which could lead in an altogether different direction. We are willing to play quite a few different genres of games but we don't want to make any GM with a legitimately neat idea feel as though that idea would be struck down.

I could use a few new players in my Gurps Cyberpunk/Space Game:

http://www.playbyweb.com/mario1.php?_b=15445

It's Gurps 4e game with some Transhuman Space and Space setting material being used for the background.

Can you give an overview on some of these ideas you have?

Hey, I am the usual GM for agentzero and the rest of our group.

I run a lot of short term campaigns, but kinda wanna play the other side of things for a bit and be a player.

I think what we are looking for is to start a fresh campaign and maybe work with the gm to create a setting we would like to play in and they would be able to come up with ideas for and feel that they have creative freedom to shape the campaign as well.

Usually I like to let the players help shape the world through their actions making it more the groups campaign and less the GMs campaign. IE that the players are not just running through the gm's rat maze.

We like our share of action and roleplaying. We like creative problem solving. Preferably in a fairly fast paced game.

To answer ronkes question I have a few ideas I have wanted to play out but just never got around to fully fleshing them:

A zombie apocalypse in a steam/cyberpunk setting
Possible virus or drug in the far future that has spread across the densely populated areas causing a already delicate society to be driven underground. could be a story of survival, search for a cure, or something less grand in a less than hospitable setting.

A mythology mashup setting
A alternate history type thing. Where all premodern cultures are at their height Greeks Norse Babylonians Persians Asian cultures Egyptians roman's ect. The myths and gods that the cultures hold are real so titans frost giants Servants of Anubis all do exist. Lot to work with here so the exact focus could widely vary.

Supers setting
We had a game going a while ago that just had some bad scheduling issues. Pretty much was a classic supers setting where individuals had unique abilities in a roughly modern enviroment. Similar to heroes aproach that it is still fairly secret about these abilities but some individuals and groups do see the potential to profit from such gifts. The group we had was not good nor evil but just kinda was... They themselves decided that when a group was after them it was time to move to the otherside of the country. Could follow the same group roughly or a brand new one in the same setting.

Deep space
A classic space setting, maybe the players are on a exploration team or battle ready vessel in time of war. Lot to work with here could be dealing with multiple races or just humanoid, a utopian star trek society or cyberpunk or somthing else.

Colonization
A twist of the space idea, a colony vessel dropped on a one way trip their ship the first maned vessel to the first out of home solar system colony. Maybe their not alone...

Time travel
Time police, inter time criminals, lost in time. Buncha crap could happen in this type of setting

Dungeon crawler
Heck I bet our group could even get into a good ol' medieval dungeons and dragons treasure hunter type game

Threw these ideas out on the spot take em leave em cannibalize em... let me know your thoughts

I'm planning to run a MapTools campaign that's kind of like a mash-up of these two ideas. Instead of a virus that creates zombies, it's a virus that can give people super powers (while also having a high chance of giving them mental problems, which is where super *villains* come from). It's an 'emergence of super powers' campaign, with the players at a relatively low point value (for supers).

I'm not sure how much world-building you'd be able to do, as there are some parts that are set in stone (such as the fact that no supers ever existed prior to the virus, and there are a few organizations with their own motivations set up), but the players will be free to do what they wish, for the most part. I'd prefer it if they joined an organization of some sort after the first few sessions, as that makes the GM's job a lot easier than letting it remain a complete sandbox, but I have no real opinion on which organization they join.

On the other hand, the players might be able to shape the world through their choices. Will the world's governments survive? How many people will the virus kill? How can your super-powers be used to help society (or hurt it)?

It isn't a classic supers campaign by any means, and the players will start out as maybe 200 point normals and then be given around 100-300 points of super powers (I haven't decided yet). The characters won't know what powers they have when they start, and I think it might make things work better if I design the powers with input from the players (things like 'What kind of super powers would you like your character to get? Give at least three different examples.') and then let the players find out what powers they actually got during play.

In any case, I haven't firmly decided to run this or not yet, but if you're interested, let me know.

If anyone is interested, I set up a game forum for the MapTool campaign I talked about here. If you are interested in joining, please join Myth-Weavers (it's a great play-by-forum website, with some great features like character sheets and die rollers, BTW) and post in the character creation thread.

Ya still looks like we are looking, we have two requirments which seem to be coming up we want a Voice chat program to be used ie ventrilo or teamspeak we have the servers just gotta know what you want to use. Second some visual aid program, we use maptools because I had built a nice source file for it and because its our comfort zone, but if you have a good visual tabletop program... sure we would be willing to use it but I think we really want these 2 things in the game.
