Default Bleeding to death while unconscious

Suppose you have a ST10, HT10 character take some damage in battle. Let's say he takes a total of 15 damage, and fails that HT roll to stay conscious. He's at -5 now. So now, he rolls vs. HT every hour to wake up. Wouldn't it be plausible for this guy to simply bleed to death? With the optional bleeding rule, do we get to roll vs. HT (with modifiers) every minute he's unconscious?

Also, the rules are not very clear on the following. If a character is reduced to, say, -3xHP, and succeeds at that HT check to stay alive, what are his chances of recovery after the combat is over?

Sorry for the noob questions, I'm new to this game.
