In the copy of Munchkin we bought the other day, the cleric card's resurrection ability says you can draw one or all cards from the appropriate discard pile. The thingie listing however doesn't mention this and just says the top card. Can cleric be used to draw one card from the middle of a discard pile by drawing them all and discarding the same ammount after switching them up in your hand? What is the most recent text on the cleric card? I can't find any mention of cleric changing in the Munchkin errata.

Clerics have been clarified a bit.
If you have the option of drawing X number of face up cards from a discard pile, you have to declare it up front and draw that many, discarding the same number (not out of what you just drew) And it has to be all at once, you can't ressurect one, then take one off the deck, then realize you want the 2nd off the discards as your 3rd card. |

The thingie listing, is now more than a little outdated, and Andrew and I both only recently remembered it (like last Thursday or Friday), and are trying to figure out who's supposed to fix it. As for your actual question: You can draw up to as many cards as you are supposed to from the top of the discard pile, but you must choose how many you are going to draw from the discards first, as Solelron described.
