Default Replicators - Ultra-Tech vs Spaceships

I've noticed that there is a very significant discrepency between the rate of production of a Replicator when you compare Ultra-Tech and Spaceships.

In Ultra-Tech, you have the suitcase-sized version that costs $2M and can produce 0.25 lbs/10 seconds. This translates into 90 lbs/hr.

In Spaceships, you have the $5M version which is a section for a SM +6 ship that produces 0.5 lbs/hr. This is much more expensive, massive, and has significantly less capacity.

Is there an error or errata involved with this? Or are the two rulesets working under completely different assumptions (and what are those assumptions)?

Which one should I use when my players want the UT suitcase in their ship instead of wasting space on a slower Spaceship section?

Actually the Spaceships replicator costs $100M O_O

Further, there are indications that the Spaceships facilities may be significantly more productive than they really should be.

Or, alternatively, that the prices of everything else are way too high.

Basically, during the spaceships playtest certain playtesters pushed to reduce replicator stats to levels that didn't make a mockery of economics. The current version is still somewhat too good, but it's nowhere near as ridiculous as the original.

The Ultra-Tech replicators require vast amounts of energy. Note that they only work with Cosmic Power Cells! The Spaceships replicators run off of normal (non-Cosmic) ship's power.

So if you're allowing Cosmic Power Plants for the ships, then it'd be reasonable to increase replicator productivity by 1000x or more.
