Concentrating on derivative work? Again, this not only boring and completely lacking in appeal, but also legally questionable. Also, dubious business practice.

Boring for you but I think that a lot of people would like to have a book that converts AD&D to GURPS. There are many old school gamers out there who buy this kind of stuff. GURPS has a skill system that would make old school dungeon delving more fun.

It doesn't need to be exact but close enough to be easily plugged in. FREX: Mind Flayer could be a Mind Blaster; a Frost Giant could be an Ice Giant; a Purple Worm could be a Violet Worm etc.
Well if you offer to negotiate with WoTC on behalf of SJGames they might do that. Otherwise it would have to be unofficial work, WoTC considers many aspects of AD&D to be "product identity" and would almost certainly sue SJGames if they created something called a Mind Blaster that was exactly the same as a Mind Flayer.

The mind blaster would just be a octopus headed person that eats brains and blasts people with psionics. Lejendary Adventures has has a mind flayer called a brain eater and BRPs Classic Fantasy will have a mind flayer called a mind slayer.

I find that D&D adventures work just fine with GURPS without needing to abandon GURPS ideas like sanctity.

Write it up and see if SJG accepts it. Don't hold your breath, though.

You are correct. I know that GURPS DF would not want to have monsters like drow, mind flayers and beholders but there is plenty of room for ice weasles though.

Actually, wholly legal due to the OGL, though not something on which you want SJG to waste resources. I think a better idea is to look at those old supplements and make ones in the same vein -- the Survival Guides, the Tome of Magic, the Rogues' Gallery, the Book of Lairs, the Arduin Grimoire (well, maybe a bowdlerized Arduin).
