In GURPS Magic, the standard invisibility spell blocks infrared radiation (i.e., it states that "infravision cannot see [the caster]").
However, considering that most organisms produce plenty of heat, it would seem as though this would still leave tell-tale traces of heat. Just standing in one location might leave footprints, handprints, or a heat halo in the caster's location. So, two questions: 1. How much and how obvious would such leakage be? (Do any of you have experience in thermal imaging?) 2. Was the design of the invisibility spell intended to prevent such leakage entirely? (That is, does it utterly block infrared radiation around the caster, somehow magically preventing the caster from inadvertently heating objects around him?) |
