I'm working on a Cliffhangers / WWII low powered supers campaign. The powers are derived from alien nanotech (and borrows a lot of ideas from Cybergeneration and Cyberpunk V3) after a probe crashes to Earth on Dec. 9, 1935 near Kecksberg, PA. The probe is moved to Fort Indiantown Gap by the PA National Guard, but chaos occurs when Federal authorities try to move the probe. The Golden Acorn has become rooted into the floor of a large warehouse / hanger, and the Army and FBI try to remove it using blow torches. The probe splits open and assembler nanites spill out. Over 100 people are "dissolved" and the sight is bombed. Unfortunately this throws more nanites into the atmosphere creating an egg shaped fallout zone with the wide end centered on Ft. Indiantown Gap and the narrow end pointing towards New York City. Shortly there after the nanites begin to build a massive Carbon Tower where the Golden Acorn had been and people experiencing puperty begin to gain extraordinary powers. The government forms the Space Object Research Agency headed by Tesla, Vannevar Bush, Robert Goddard and John von Neumann, but SORA is unable to stop the nanites from spreading around the world.
So with that back story I am creating about 24 nanite supers templates. All of them will have the Nanotech Power Modifier from pg. 34 of Supers and will be built on about 250 points. The thing is, I really like the idea of National Advantages from World War II and was hoping to use this idea to create national supers that make use of national stereotypes. I want these to be based on how the nation perceives itself and have at least one unique nano super per major combatant of World War II. My idea for an American nano-super would be either a gadgeteer techno or perhaps a melting pot improvisor. For Russia I might have a bear based metamorph, but I'm not sure. Any ideas would be greatly appreciate. As an aside, given that Hitler's Germany, Tojo's Japan and Stalin's Soviet Union were generally not nice places, let's stick to broader historical stereotypes for these nations. Thank you all very much. Bejamin |
