Ow my physics. Please use some other pseudoscience to power your force fields, because bullets aren't made of a ferromagnetic substance. "Metals" aren't magnetic, as a group, and LEAD very much isn't. Nor is brass or copper, the other major elements in cased bullets.

Nor, depsite portrayal in some Indiana Jones movies, is gunpowder *clutches head* OW MY PHYSICS.

My suggestion would be to restrict armour to bosses and the like. Most people protect themselves from gun fire with cover, so when there's a gun fight the enemy roll against tactics to find the best cover, players will do the same. This is what distinguishes mooks from other foes, mooks take no cover.
