Default Mega Munchkin question

I just started playing Munchkin, and just for clarity sake to make sure I read ALL the rules properly.

If I were to combine every single set and expansion into one massively huge deck... I should in principle have 4 decks, right?

*Doors (1,758 cards if my count is right)
*Treasure (1,135 cards if my count is right)
*Dungeons (from Munchkin 6)
*Fairy Dust (once the Fairy Dust set is re-released)

**I suppose you can also consider the Boons from the iPhone app a 5th Deck

I'm not certain about the count, but yes, you would have 4 decks. Fairy Dust and Demented Dungeons are the only sets so far that have their own draw piles (everything else is just in the Door or Treasure decks).

It may be worth mentioning that if you are playing a Blender game, with certain expansions you may have some extra discard piles (most notably with Munchkin Cthulhu and its special Cultist discard pile). However, the number of draw piles will remain the same.

4 decks, 5 discard piles (Cultist discard pile)

Although Fairy Dust doesn't really have a discard pile as such, just a collection of cards that are "out of the game"... but that's kind of splitting hairs.

Well, wouldn't you have to make a FD discard pile so you could reshuffle the discards once the deck has been exhausted?

No, the Fairy Dust cards are not discarded when used, they are removed from play. So, once the Fairy Dust deck has run out of cards, even if you do something that would grant a Fairy Dust card you just get nothing, your out of luck.

There's no reason NOT to keep a discard pile, though, and at least one promo item allows you to recover a card from the FD discards, so...

True, but the main thing I was trying to answer was his question of "reshuffling the fairy dust cards once the deck is exhausted," Which you don't do because the cards are not discarded like door or treasure cards, but instead removed from play.
