Are cards that grant you a bonus, but have "No Value" considered an item?

In a recent game one player played "Help Me Out Here" and swiped the "Theme Music" card. The player who originally had the Theme Music argued that it was not an item since the card said "No Value" in the bottom right corner and the rules explicitly state that items have a value (in gold pieces, credits, etc.).

We played it as if the "No Value" counted as a value in gold pieces. However, I didn't see anything in the FAQ or Errata to suggest that items with "No Value" were or were not considered items. Were can I find clarification for this?
