Clockwork Body
I was working today on a character sheet for a character in a steampunk campaign I'm running, who is a soldier who has had most of his body replaced by clockwork prosthetics, inspired by the Edgar Allen Poe story "The Man Who Was All Used Up." A lot of his traits were fairly obvious, (such as Noisy, Maintenance, Ham Fisted, Injury Tolerance, etc.) but I was wondering about how to model one feature. His clockwork mechanism needs to be wound up periodically, (I'm thinking at least three times daily, depending on how much he exerts himself). This is separate from Maintenance, which reflects periodic cleaning, replacement of worn gears and lubrication.
The way I wound up modeling it was to give him the disadvantages Lame: Legless and No Manipulators, both with the Mitigator: Clockwork Prosthetics. So long as the prosthetics are kept wound up, he does not suffer from his lack of natural limbs, but if they wind down, he is effectively immobile until someone winds him up again. I decided to call it a -60% mitigator.
Does that seem right? Or can anybody think of a better way to model this type of clockwork body?
