Ok, so I'm setting up a campaign for a player of mine that all but screams for Psionic abilities in a TL 9'ish setting (with some massive advances such as prototype faster than light speed, and high end TL 10 robotics).
My problem is that in 3rd edition Psionics was...just..abominably terrible. It's point curve and abilities were just broken. I wouldn't even DARE to use them in a fantasy setting and even when the enemies would be using missile launchers I'd worry that psionics would be so overpowered on a point by point basis compared to just about anything else. Essentially because of 3rd edition psionics I swore to never use that power system in any of my campaigns. Now with 4th out and the powers book havin' been floatin' around for a while, I'm curious as to what some of you think? Is it balanced? Does it scale well on a point by point basis when compared to other advantages and skills? I'd love some feedback on this before I decide to use this book. Thanks. |
