Default Consider publishing a single book combining "Characters" and "Campaigns"?

I realize that this would make for an expensive book, but (for what it's worth), I'd buy it. I'm not sure how it knows, but somehow whenever I need an answer, the answer is *always* found in the *other* book. ;)

That would be a very large book. They might have to go to a university press to get something that thick bound... and we all know how expensive university-press books are, right?

While having a Basic Set capable of stopping small-arms fire may be appealing, I think my shoulders would be unhappy with me after lugging it around for an afternoon...

I wouldn't mind as long as the binding held together; after all, I carry the two books together already.

Hero Games did something similar with its Fifth Edition and Fifth Edition Revised (FRED). Of course, after a few office jokes, they put FRED to the test and found that it actually *would* stop a small-caliber bullet.....

Sorry to disappoint, but in the draft for a future project I calculate that both BASIC SET books side-by-side provide only DR 1.

Cheers

Hmmm... I actually shot a hardcover textbook many years ago with a recurve shortbow and it stopped the arrow quite handily. I used to use the same bow to shoot through 1/2" plywood. Does your calculation take into account the effect of the layers of paper, or do you just treat it like a solid chunk of wood fiber?

Even a .22 goes through 5" of solid pine wood.

Cheers

For extra ballistic protection, it should also be digest sized, and thicker than BURNING EMPIRES.

Nonsense, if you sneak up on the gun man and bludgeon him with the book you'll never need the ballistic protection. Nice brass reinforced corners! That's the ticket.
