Default If a Wannabe Vampire gets a mate

Can a Cleric go "booga booga" to one and then fight the other?

On a similar note, if you are fighting two monsters, can you sacrifice a hireling (or raptor steed) at one and then fight the other?

Noting that I don't have the cards in front of me, I would say that I see no reason he couldn't.

Nyet, nein, non, and hell no. You fight both monsters, and if you can't defeat them, you Run Away from both monsters. You can't start running, sacrifice a Hireling to get away from the nasty one, and then turn around and attack the other. Once you start Running, you're Running, period.

I didn't think so on the second part.

But on the first part, I'm wondering if the second Wannabe Vampire would "hear" the booga booga and go running away with the first...

I am inclined to agree. If your Cleric opts to use the "Booga Booga" scare tactic, I would think that both monsters would high-tail-it and run.

Thanks for the idea, I had not thought of that before. Tis a new treasure grab for the Cleric. (at least for me anyway)

Cheers!!

Why? They happen to be two separate monsters with the same ability. I see no reason why you can't target one and not the other.

I can see what you are saying. Because of the nature of the vulnerability I would have to disagree. A Munchkin is fighting both monsters at the same time. They are both focused on you as a target as well. When a Munchkin lets loose with the scary words "Booga Booga", are not both going to hear it and run?

The wording on the card says to me that the Cleric can choose to chase off the specified Monster by doing something, not that the Monster flees if the Cleric does something. As much as those things mean the same thing in one sense (same end result), they also don't mean the same thing in another sense. The Cleric can choose to chase off one or both.

Thank you for the ruling.

I understand that sacrificing a Hireling only allows automatic escape from one monster. I am unclear about sacrificing the Raptor Steed. If a Raptor Steed is sacrificed, is automatic escape from all monsters in the combat granted or is it just for one of the monsters in the combat? Thanks!

Sacrificing a Hireling gets you away from all the Monsters you have to Run Away from. The rules state, "You automatically escape from
all monsters in the fight," with respect to Hireling sacrifice.
