I love this one.

Still too powerful for a perk. This version is in the 4-point range. It needs to be much more specific, or to just negate a -1 penalty, to get down to "perk".

And no, I can't think of an easy fix. "Stage Presence" equals Charisma, Voice, or high skill, not a perk.

Alright, this is easy to fix: just disregard the last sentence. The rest of the perk should be sufficiently wimpy to evade the MMMM.

A bit of explanation: when I conceived of this thing, I thought of the people who get up on stage and -- although they are absolutely terrible -- you can't help but watch them, if for no other reason than to see how they'll crash and burn. (See the outtakes from American Idol and America's Got Talent for copious examples of what I'm talking about.) Yet, they still had everyone's attention long enough to (mostly) complete their acts. You might think it's the worst performance you've ever seen, but there's an intangible something about the performer that keeps you from walking out.

I've done enough acting/performing myself to know that Stage Presence can be completely independent of all the things you mention; especially Voice, because someone who can't sing at all can still command attention.

I'm thinking SP provides no more benefit than commanding attention for those precious few minutes, allowing the performer to finish the performance before the applause or rotten fruit begins to fly. The dance may have still looked like a drunken fit; the song may still have sounded like a wounded cat, but the audience allowed it to finish. Of course, if the performance was any good at all, the performer still had that undivided attention.

My attempt to add the +1 was ill-conceived, I admit, but see my previous post for the fix to that.

If anyone still disagrees, well -- let's just chalk it up to the rantings of an old man, and move on to the next Perk...

I get what you are trying to go for. As I see it, the problem here is that you are trying to attribute the audience's "perverse" obsession (a trait/quality derived from human nature) to the person on stage. Humans seem to have an obesesion with disasters (we call it "rubbernecking" here, referring to a driver's tendancy to turn and watch the wreck on the side of the road as they drive past....)

Medical prescription you can legally access to a single pharmaceutical drug normally restricted in your society (like painkiller or narcotics) you cannot excede set doses and you have still to pay for them but at least you are not in trouble with the law (unless you mess something with it).
quirk level legal immunity

Accent You pretend to know so well a language that you can simulate a single accent. A native speaker can identify your speech as fake with a Per (Hearing) roll and, unless you can give a good excuse, will think that you are moking him reacting at -1 (or worse for nationalists). This perk could be useful not only to diguise and stage act but also to start a fight.

Yeah, could be I'm just reading too much into what the audience thinks and reacts to. Still, I think there's a kernel of a Perk here somewhere if somebody cares to pick up the ball and run with it.

Some sort of circumstantial bonus to holding the attention of the audience for a certain amount of time that doesn't confer any bonus on job rolls or influence rolls using the same skill?

Love him or hate him - NPC reactions to the character are adjusted one step more positive if the result on the reaction table was positive, or one step more negative if the result was negative. Neutral reactions are unmodified.
