Default Dungeon Fantasy

Hello,

I am new here and I hope I don't start by posting into the wrong forum.
I have searched this site for over an hour now, but can't find what I'm looking for, so maybe someone can help me:
I've downloaded df1 because of the templates. In my RPG-club someone said that some templates are missing because of page-restriction (such as scholar or tamer). Could you tell me whether that is true and if so in what thread are the resp. statistics?

Thanks
Agneta

I think you've been slightly misled. The author may come by and provide a more authoritative answer, but so far as I can tell, those templates were never written to begin with. The reason for not writing them at all may be related to a desire to keep the DF volumes short, but I suspect the more likely reason is that they're not really a part of the genre which Dungeon Fantasy is trying to represent.

I do recall one post in which Kromm stated he'd originally written several templates that didn't make it past editing, including Scholar and a 'Beastfighter'. I don't know if they ever saw publishing in any form, however; I haven't heard about any related Pyramid articles or any Designer's Notes for DF.

I said that there were many templates that didn't get a berth in DF 1. I didn't mean that I had created them but couldn't find room for them . . . I meant that when I converted the outline from one for a 240-page hardback to one for a series of PDFs, I couldn't squeeze them all into the page allocation for a 32-page PDF. Knowing that, I simply didn't create them.

As it happens, I hope one day to write them up as future PDFs. You already got an evil cleric and an unholy warrior in DF 3. I can promise you that DF 4 will have . . . others.

Oh great - That's quick!

Thanks for your answers. I'll be waiting for df4 then. (unfortunately I've got no use for evel clerics or unholy warriors...)

What is about them as . . . NPCs?

Edit: they can fit with Legates and Blackguards. (see FFG d20 Midnight campaign setting).

I've got a DF article in the Pyramid slushpile that I'm fairly proud of*, but no telling if/when it'll be accepted. I'm surprised we haven't seen more DF in Pyramid, frankly.

* And which would compliment DF4 nicely, IMO, which is fortunate given that I had no idea what would be in it . . .
