Dungeon Fantasy: Underworld Faeryland

It is said that deep within the Earth, there are dark lands of the faery underworld. These lands are said to have a graceful and wicked beauty. Often giant fungi grow wildly in the underworld caves while phosphorescent lichen glows an erie violet-blue. The mushroom forests are teeming with nasty faeries; boggarts, trolls, ogres, orcs, goblins, gremlins, bogies, hobgoblins, black annis, red caps, kobolds, grims, dark dwarves, hell gnomes and shadow elves. There are even tiny faries with glowing lights which fly around the mushroom forests hoping to lead followers to their doom. The mushroom forests are highly magical and it is easy for mundanes to get lost in them, but they will of course be found. Often the shadow elves build giant, graceful castles of black stone, where they rule the faery underworld. The dark dwarves mine the surrounding caves for adamantine and other precious metals. The hell gnomes help to build wicked traps and tricks for hapless intruders to come upon. The wicked faeries fight and bicker constantly but when they are threatened they quickly unite to defeat a common enemy. Often demons and other foul creatures walk freely in the faery underworld for it is no less evil here than in hell.
